Top 10 Tournament Commanders Chart

The formula for this chart reviews all winrates for all Commanders in the Organized Play data, then selects the Top 10 based solely on “above average performance.”

Number of Top 4 Finishes Chart

The formula for this chart simply tallies the number of reported Top 4 finishes for any Commander. If the Commander played in a Top 4 in any tournament, it’ll be displayed here.

Power Rankings Chart

These are multiple scripts powering this chart. The following is a breakdown of what those scripts seek to accomplish:

  1. Gets data: Reads commander matchup data from a matrix comparing every registered Commander to every registered Commander.
  2. Calculates average win rate: Determines the average win rate across all commander matchups in the dataset.
  3. Calculates commander scores:
    – Starts with each commander’s overall win rate.
    – Adjusts the score based on individual matchup win-loss ratios.
    – Gives more weight to frequent matchups.
    – Uses the average win rate for matchups with no data (“0-0” records).
    – Further adjusts the score based on how the commander performs against shared opponents compared to how their direct opponent performs against those same shared opponents.
  4. Creates output: Formats the scores (multiplies by 100 and rounds to 2 decimal places).
  5. Ranks commanders: Sorts the commanders from highest to lowest score.
  6. Outputs rankings: Writes the ranked list of commanders and their scores to the backend sheet for the dashboard.
